Haha. I am not Vegan AT ALL either….but a lot of time the healthier options just happen to be veg-based. Plus, i have found some damn tasty stuff that is vegan. On my site i have a few pizzas where I actually have used vegetarian sausage. the stuff is surprisingly good…damn good.

Sounds to me like it was pretty rude. Hard to say what her motivations were, but it seems like she has a fair amount to learn about civil discourse. With that said, the guy talking on his phone probably wouldn’t win any awards for etiquette, either.

That seems to be what the guy is saying in that Hidden Philly blog post. If it came to it, the mural could be reproduced elsewhere, so saving it turns out to be a pretty weak argument. It’s interesting that they can’t fight the building based on its own merits. Is there no recourse? Looking at other ugly buildings in the city, it’s clearly not the first fight of that sort that’s been lost.

That one mural on Bainbridge is less about losing the mural and more about the shitty building that’s being proposed for the adjoining vacant lot. And since the neighborhood has zero recourse over bad design, they’ve latched onto saving the mural as their reason for opposing the development.

It’s kind of annoying that the neighbors can’t fight the development on its merits, ie whether this new infill development fits within the existing neighborhood in terms of scale and size, and instead has to create this other issue just to get their voices heard. It weakens what I think is a strong argument about preventing bad design and context which is logical in favor of an emotional argument over art.

I sincerely don’t think that Obama is on his way to “Loserville.” he is smart chap and trust me before next year he will do something, that will bring him back. But one thing is sure that It won’t be the face that wins for the GOP, it’s got to be ideas and a real platform. The GOP has to show it stands for something meaningful again; if it does then it has a chance, but probably not in time for 2012.

I’m just amazed that anyone can support the GOP at this point. They’re hurting average Americans, just so they can score political points. Disagreeing on approach is one thing, but they’re happy to stop any progress, just so they can try to hurt the president. It’s outrageous!
